Look what I finished tonight!
I love it! The only thing I would change is to separate the sleeves a bit earlier - it's kind of baggy around the shoulders. (I could probably have gone down a size.) Oh, and I'd modify the sleeve increases. But anyways, my first sweater is done! Now I need to start swatching for Green Gable. That should go more quickly.
Here's the rundown:
Pattern: Cable Down Raglan by Stephanie Japel for Interweave Knits, Spring 2007
Yarn: Patons Classic Merino in Leaf Green, about 4 2/3 skeins.
Needles: US 4
Cast on: May 26, 2007
Cast off: August 27, 2007

It's so beautiful! What an impressive first sweater :) Love it!

Congrats! What size did you choose? I'm almost at the part where I need to pick a size, and the pattern sizes aren't quite right (I've never knit a sweater before, but when I measure storebought sweaters they all measure abt 36 or 37", and the pattern only has 34 or 38). So - negative ease or 1" larger? akrua47 at gmail
The design and color look great on you. You have a right to be proud of your first sweater, it came out beautiful.
Hey, you finished it! It looks fabulous. I've seen this sweater in progress in person, and the color is a nice, olivey green. It looks great on Bethany with her red hair! Very nice.
Cara, I chose the 34 1/2" size, but I haven't blocked the sweater yet, so I don't know for sure what the final measurements will be. With the 34 1/2" bust, I should have 1/2" of negative ease. Does that help?
That's your first sweater? Wow! I've not been brave enough to even start one yet.
Just lovely.
Congratulations! It looks lovely on you.
Your first sweater?!?!? I had no idea. Congrats!
You have done a very nice job!! I recognized it immediately as an Interweave pattern too! Again, nice job. You should be very proud of it for sure!!
Congrats! It looks great!
I think so, thanks!
